If interested

I am slowly still uploading photos onto Flickr. For those local or not local cycling fans I have pics up from the UCI Squawker Cyclocross Race and the Iron Horse Classic crit in Durango, Colorado. There are other folders that I have created if cycling is not your fancy. I invite you to check them out and leave comments if you so wish.

Whaddaya think?

Of my new spectacles? Try and look past the scuff that has overtaken my face. I just picked them up this evening and am really liking them and the look.

Pictures and Videos

With all the present craze of uploading pictures and videos onto sites like Flickr and YouTube, I am looking for some answers.

If you use either of these sites or others that are similar in nature, I have to ask how you go about doing it? First off, are you one of those that carries your compact digital camera with you, waiting for the unexpected or right opportunity to snap a pic or capture something on video that sparks your interest?

Lastly, with all the photo sharing sites out there, do you continue to save your pics on your computers? Even though they are uploaded into a secure site that offers more security than most computers of not losing pictures to crashes or viruses?

I mainly ask these questions for advice on pictures saving and storing. Comments and advice...? Please share.

Winter Storm

As I type this, there is some serious snow blowing outside. I took a quick little video of it and uploaded it for your viewing pleasure. I know it is not the easiest to make out but listen for the wind and focus on the street light as the snow blows past.

And Counting...

Today was my fifth day at the new job. Up through today all I had mainly done was tear engines down to the blocks and send them off for treatment for the turnaround of rebuilding them. Well today a coworker and myself finally rebuilt one from nothing. It was pretty interesting since it was my "first time".

Well my fifth day made it five days and counting that the supervisors have taken us out to lunch. They have already said that it will not last because we will not be in the shop forever. Which is a good thing because eating out sure has it's effects on you and often those are unwelcome. I can't complain though, I am working for some great folks and am actually happy to get up every morning and go to work.

Lastly, I have to give a shout out to my friend who just found out that he is going to Afghanistan for one year in July. I know he is not a fan of the war but I still hold him in high regards as I don't see him pulling some cheap stunt to get out of it as others in the Military have done. Of course I do not know anyone personally that has done an act to avoid the war or deployment but have heard my fair share of stories. I wish him well in his preperation and my best goes to his family during his absence.

Beginning and ending

Well on Tuesday I started a new job with another compression company. So far I have only been doing some safety classes and working in the shop. So I have had the privilege of not showing up to work until 0730 and getting off at 1700. Not to mention only having to drive 10 minutes one way vs. 2 hrs one way with the previous company. Everyone at the new place seems really laid back and are nice to be around. I sure do like things so far and so happy that I am there.

We woke up to 2 inches of snow this morning!! It was nice to see but in true Farmington fashion it was mostly all gone by 1400. At least the storm only brought snow and not insane freezing temperatures as before. I guess it is supposed to snow a bit more tonight.

A little bit of dissapointment happened this past weekend as well though. Well for the previous 4 years on this specific MLK Jr. weekend I was able to go somewhere in which I had never been. Unfortunately with me inbetween jobs at the time, I wasn't able to carry things on for the fifth year. It is a little dissapointing but I promised to make it up to myself and fulfill the visit of somewhere new later on in the year. It more than likely won't be Stockholm, Sweden as the first year brought but I will welcome it just as happily. I wish for all of you as well to not let your dreams get pushed away or forgotten because of bumps in the road.

I am not sure what CJH, SPO or MLA have been up to lately but I sure would love to hear from them again soon. I am not limiting my hopeful contacts to just those three. So if you fill the need along with them, I would be ecstatic to hear from you as well.

Running around and running into

This week as I have been job hunting, I have ran into some old friends. Some I was happy to see and some that could have been better off stayed the way they were, unnoticeable. Oh well, at least the reconnection with the ones I like has been nice and I wish that things continue to look up for myself.

I am still on the search but things are looking up at least. How is the week going on for you? Here in Farmington, it is still bitterly cold and inturn we still have snow hanging around. In all of my 28 years, most of it spent in Farmington as well; I cannot recall a time ever that the snow has hung around this long from one snowfall. It has been here almost 2 weeks. I also heard that another storm is supposed to move in on Monday. Maybe with the cloud cover, things won't be as cold. I can wish right? One thing though is I am kind of glad that I haven't been working this week. I sure pity the poor souls I like that are out in it. As far as the ones I don't much care for right now, they can stay out there forever and it will suit me just fine.

I am still hoping to hear back from Shawn one of these days and I wonder if he is going to track WC race in LA this weekend. If he does, I hope he gets some pictures!

Hunting makes me hungry

Today as my job hunt continued I decided to take a drive up to Durango and see if I could get any leads or at least the want ads from the Durango Herald. It was just so convienient to go ahead and stop into RGP's while I was in town. Of course they have many options to choose from but I had to go with the only one I have ever had but can't get enough of. The Southwest Turkey Club. I hope someday you guys come and visit so that you may be able to know they joy of the RGP's experience.

The Real Joey Thompson was working in the kitchen and "Snoodle" was in the back having a bite to eat as I walked in. It was pretty cool to see. Anyways, I will leave you to drool over what I had to look at as I consumed it.

Soap

Without doing a Google, Wiki or whatever search you prefer; Can anyone tell me off the top of their heads what soap is made of? I assume different soaps consist of different materials just like everything else.

I know this is a bizarre topic but it came to me while I was taking a shower this morning. Give me your feedback and please no researching! Be original.

Relief and Continuation

Well as most of you may know, work was becoming a burden for me and was flat out overwhelming. I was expected to perform a job that I did not have the resources, help or proper training to complete the task in a safe and/or efficient manor.

My days had turned into extremely long ones and even though I was doing everything I knew to do, I often found myself spinning my wheels and accomplishing very little. In turn my performance was very poor even though I had asked my supervisor for help and more training. Of course I was never awarded that resource and often someone would take over for me as I was sent home after many hours. So I never got the chance to work along someone to help and learn how to remedy the situation.

So in turn I quit laying down and taking all this abuse that was being thrown my way. Of course this did not go over well and more abuse came on a daily basis. Needless to say relief finally came my way as I was laid off due to my performance or lack there of. This may sound strange but I could not have been any happier or relieved with this occuring. Yes, it sucks that I have to go out and search for something new but it gives me hope that there are better things out there for me.

I have gotten a new phone and if you have not received my new number yet, let me know and I will give it to you. I inturn lost many of your phone numbers as I was doing a mass delete on my company phone as I was turning it in.

I am hoping all is well with you and your everyday lives. Whether it be flooding, a never ending fall as your home falls apart, falling out of a tree instead of using a ladder or an infestation of ants. Take care of yourselves and I hope you are always looking to find the brighter things in everyday life.

Contacting

Hey everyone, Just wanted to let everyone know that I am no longer able to be reached on my cell number that many of you may have. It's a long story but some of you may be able to figure it out, as I have shared some of the stories with you. Anyways, for now it is all up to my home phone. If you don't have that number and want to reach me, email me and I will give it to you.

Snow

Well it rained here for most of the weekend but on Sunday night it finally turned into snow. It actually has managed to stick around through today. Farmington usually gets snow but it is usually gone just as fast as it comes. Last night we actually got a little bit more to add to our current quantity.

Hopefully I can get my TAF report if a certain someone will call me back with it. Or maybe I need to find out a way to get into JAAWIN...

Anyways, I hope you are enjoying the weather wherever you are and regardless of what it is doing. Thank you also to my friend who shares a name with another season, it was a pleasure talking to her!

Here is my truck from my front door and looking down my street today.

Man that's nice!

Trying some things out

I am in the process of adding a new layout to my page here. Blogger has offered some nice new updates, so when I can figure out what exactly I want to go with, it will be here.

How is the weekend going for everyone? It has been raining here all weekend. I ended up going to Durango last night and the snow was falling like crazy!! The latest report I heard today was that they received a foot of snow. Makes me wish that I would have chosen to go skiing today. Oh well, I will shoot for next weekend.

Is it storming where you are at? Do any of you have any suggestions about the layout? Questions comments, concerns or dislikes are welcome as well. Have I mentioned that I sure hope that it snowed out where I work. If not with all this rain, it sure will be a sloppy mess this week! I will take my camera along with me, so hopefully you guys can see what I am talking about.

Here we go again

Just as they say history repeats itself, here is a new story on an old issue.

Click here for some past news on this. Of course, I miss being over there but that was one of the issues that would have been just fine as me never having to experience.

1/1/08

My day started off well as I had a delicious breakfast burrito that was smothered in green chili. If you guys ever come for a visit, I will definitely treat you! The morning was spent relaxing from an uneventful new years eve. I cleaned up and attempted to cheer myself up from the heartache that is coming with the return of work tomorrow. haha

As the day progressed and it warmed up to about a brisk 35 degrees, It was then off to the park to have my first bike ride off the new year. The sun was out and even though the air was cold, I was great being outdoors on the bike. You will definitely see me more often on it this year.

Upon my return I had a nice but simple pasta dinner and some relaxation as I attempted to warm up. From there it was off to the laundary mat just down the street, to wash my oily and dirty work clothes. Those machines sure are PRICEY!!

So here I am wrapping things up, having just finished my first Starbucks of the New Year. I hope you all had a great day as well. Fell free to drop me a line or comment and let me know how things went for you.

Here are some pics I took while riding today.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE

Moving Forward

As 2007 is in the past and we move onto 2008, I have to look back. I had some wonderful times and some that I wish to never repeat again. If only I had the power to control that. No matter what we do in life, we are always going to come across those bad times. It's part of what makes us who we are presently and into the future.

One lesson I learned the hard way, was that you can give someone everything you possibly can, yet it is not the one thing they need most of all. It is different for each person based on the experiences that have come their way. I have come across those that have it worse than I do and those that have it much better. As I sit and think about it, I can honestly say that I am happy with my life. Of course everything has not gone the way I would have liked or planned. However, with everything that has been served to me, I am wiser and better off because of those things.

As time continues to pass, my dreams, hopes, expectations and priorities change. Some out of necessity and others from the road I have taken down the walk of life. Life is not easy at times and I constantly wonder where I will be in 10 years from now. 2007 ended poorly for me but a big part was that I let it end that way. Yes, I may have been rejected but I carried the rejection too far. I didn't carry on with my life so easily as she did. That was the hardest part.

So my New Years resolution is to turn things around in my life. I want to be happy again and enjoy my everyday life. There are alot of changes I need to make in order for that to happen. I am going to give it my all though and I appreciate all of you that give me support. I am tired of making excuses for my downfalls. I am the main source of them and need to stop blaming others for them. Of course I can make a change in my life on any day not just New Years. It just worked out conviently for me. I know that not everyday will be "sunny" but I need to chase those "cloudy" days away more often so that they do not over come my daily life as I have allowed in the past.

Thank you to all of you, whether you have brought happiness or heartache. I am better off today because of what you have been to me. I hope you all strive to make it a better year also. Good luck and never stop moving forward.
