Rock, Paper, Scissors

I got this From Liz Hatch's page and had to share it with you. Enjoy!

No responses....?

I hope everyone had a decent Christmas. I have not heard from many of you, so I can only wonder. Those whom I have talked to, had nice ones. As for instance Autumn in KS got a nest egg of 2K from her grandfather. MLA got to go out and pick out her own presents. She needed some cheering up since she had rain the other day and it melted alot of the snow. This morning was a nice surprise as everything was covered in snow.

As for me I went skiing on Monday after working 34 hours over the weekend. It was very enjoyable but I am so burned out right now. Yesterday was a short work day for me and today I ended up calling in "sick". Rest is priority this weekend and I plan on laying low for new years. I will elaborate this weekend on what Santa brought me.

I also finally started to get back into the swing of things and started to add photos to my Flickr account. Go click on the link to the right and check them out. I will be working on those as well this weekend.

Winter = Work (Lot's of it!)

Just wanted to say hey to everyone and thanks for those of you that continue to stop in. I have worked all night the past 2 nights and am on again for tonight. I hope it goes better than the past few ones have. I am exhausted so I will leave you with some pics of what I see everyday. With the recent snow it sure has made for a difficult time. I am really looking forward to having a few days off. I still need to finish my Christmas shopping though. I have to wait until I get paid on friday though. These past few excursions I have taken have brought the funds down a bit. Oh well, at least I can save after the new year.

Here is my work truck after getting stuck!

Look how far I got buried!

Here are some of the compressor engine stations that I work on and keep running and what I see everyday.

Here is my steed that takes me back and forth everyday.
Lastly, I hope that MLA is doing okay with the storms in the NE and these pics are mainly for her since she has such a hard time that it snows here. haha

Another one in the books

Well last weekend was a blizzard of events. I also ended up driving through a blizzard on my way and coming home from Denver. This was on my way to Denver going over Wolf Creek Pass.

Well I ended up making it there just fine despite the snow that did not stop until Saturday evening. I ended up driving up on Friday since I worked all night Thursday and in turn had Friday off.

Saturday evening as the snow was still falling, the news warned people that if they "did not have to drive that they shouldn't." Well that scared me a little bit but I called the Fillmore and they said that show was still on. So I made the decision to give it a shot. I told my uncle that I would see how the roads were and if they were too bad, that I would turn around and accept defeat. Well the hardest part of my journey was finding the Fillmore since I am not that familiar with Denver and I didn't have a co pilot as everyone was scared to go because of the weather. Well I arrived safely and ended up parking in a Office Depot parking lot about a block and a half away. I managed to make it inside just as the snow had quit falling and upon me selling the extra 3 tickets for $50.

All I have to really say about the concert, was that it was probably the best and most funnest one I have EVER been to! FLOGGING MOLLY, is hard to beat for sure!! Thanks a million to Cody for turning me onto them!

I was up front for most of the concert. There was a lot of pushing and such but I would do it all over this weekend if I had the chance. This was a must see concert and I can't wait to experience it again!

Another nice surprise to the weeknd was that my cousin was also in Denver from Kansas. He and his wife and their friend came out to go skiing and to experience the massacre that took place on Sunday! I was fortunate that there was another ticket available. I met up with them after the concert. It was pretty funny since they were only a few blocks away at a bar. So we had a few drinks and readied ourselves for Sunday.

I was supposed to go home on Sunday but this is what I got to watch. So I was delayed until Monday.

Lastly, here I am with one of the cheerleaders after the game.
I came across these Rocky Mountain Big Horn Sheep on the side of the road as I drove home on Monday.
If you are wondering what they are doing, they are licking the salt that was put down on the highway.
I had a wonderful birthday weekend in my favorite state and I wish for many more to come.
Just as they say though, it's not a trip if something doesn't go wrong. Unfortunately, something did go wrong but it could have been worse!! I ended up hitting a curb and with it being so cold, I ended up breaking off part of my wheel. Crazy thing was that I drove on the interstate at 75 mph for nearly 45 minutes. I didn't notice it until the next morning. YIKES!! Thanks for stopping in once again and becareful out there!

28

Thank you for all of the well wishes that everyone sent me today. The last week sure has been a rollercoaster but there is nothing I can do about it. That's just how life is sometimes.

Well my "big day was enjoyable, especially since I spent most of it sleeping and did not have to go into work.

Sunday my family and I went to Durango and ate at Steamworks. We had the "Cajun Boil". I could eat that everyday!!! Tonight was Mexican and my own Reeese's Cake.

I can't help but not mention the pizza I had in Seattle that is the closest thing ever to Neapolitan Pizza here in the states. If any of you are ever up in Seattle anytime make sure you go and you will be impressed as well. Click here to get the scoop!

Thanks again!!

On a final note, I am off to Denver this weekend. I finally get to see these guys in concert. Thanks to Cody for turning me onto these guys! This was my birthday present to myself!! I am so excited!!
Where ever you are, whether it is Cali, RI or wherever thanks again for the bday wishes!!

I feel loneliness...

I was wondering if any of you had noticed what I had left out of my title from my last post. I am very thankful for all in my life but sometimes those people or experiences make me unhappy or sad.

The long weekend started off well and I was overwhelmed with joy. I ended up taking a friend of mine to Colorado Springs, so that my friend would be able to have a Happy Thanksgiving. From the moment I dropped my friend off and went on my own way, it hit me again that I am alone and my smile turned into a frown. Even though I had plans of my own for the weekend, I could not pull myself out of this slump I was fastly sliding into.

Thursday I flew from Denver to Seattle, to spend Thanksgiving with some friends of mine. I enjoyed getting away and catching up but still could not find that joy I had had just one day earlier.

Upon my return to Colorado Springs on saturday evening, my worst fears had come to light. I had lost a great deal of my connection to my friend. We both have issues going on our lives from past experiences. Needless to say, I have nothing to be happy about at the moment. I am thankful but depression is weighing heavily on me.

I appologize for me being so negative but when you give everything you have to help someone and it does no good; maybe even worsen things I cannot feel happy in no manner. I don't know if you my friend are reading this but my heart goes out to you and hope things get better in your world.

Maybe things will turn around before my big day next Tuesday but I can only think of one thing that I want. With the recent events, it seems like I have better luck at winning the lottery...

Squawker #2

Today was the second annual squawker 'cross race in Durango. It was the first year being a UCI Race and the turnout of racers was a decent one. I arrived shortly after the men's race started and was exstatic when I saw the riders who were battling it out. Todd Wells, Troy Wells, Geoff Kabush, Joey Thompson, Brady Kappius, Danny Summerhill, Joachim Parbo, Tad Elliot and a few others. Todd Wells took the win, with Kabush following and Joey Thompson taking third.

I hung around for the mens and womens podium presentation upon the completion of the races. I even had the privilege of chatting with Kristin Danielson for a bit. I may have even held up her podium time a bit. Anyways, she was a sweet person and a pleasure to talk to. She said Tom is doing well but his shoulder is going to be a long process but things are progressing daily.

Enjoy the pics below and when I get all of them on Flickr I will let you know.

My pictures are not as good as you would find here but I was next to the photographer when he snapped many of those pics.

I wonder why this guy was spectating though and not racing?

Getting Back

Hey guy, sorry I was unable to return your phone call later Monday as I told you and as I anticipated on doing. I ended up working until 9:30 that night and I had a migraine upon getting home. I will definitely be getting back with you again soon. Or if you have time feel free to call again. It was great hearing from you again. Hopefuly we can catch up more than a 2 minute conversation next time.

Onto my other friend who is on the NE side of things, I am sorry that I was unable to catch you this afternoon as well. Hope all is well in your world and that the Admiral is treating you fairly. Oh and on a final note, is 2454 the one to push, instead of 2530?

As far as those others that may be reading this, I am not trying to be secretive. I am just getting back with these 2 peeps since they have made an effort to contact me. You can do the same you know... I really would welcome it, especially if it has been quite some time. Such as James in PDX if he still reads this.

Also I am enthused that Tessa is coming back to her roots for Thanksgiving. I hope she has a great time and hopefully we can meet for coffee or lunch.

Oh yeah...

The RED SOX just won the World Series!!

It's not MLA's Cubbies. I feel Colorado needs to prove themselves more than sneaking in with a wild card in order to take it. Better luck next year Rockies!

It's falling

Well here we are again on our last week of daylight savings time. It is always a welcome site for me. I love everything that the fall has to bring...Winter, snow, the trees changing colors, and most of all I am most excited about my favorite sport ever, CYCLOCROSS!! I mean what is better than watching guys go round and round in circles for an hour, as they hurdle over barriers, ride throught mud and sand and work over their lungs riding hard in the cold air. That is unless you are Shwan and race 'cross down in San Diego. Oh well, at least he deals with all the factor's besides the cold. Afterall it is becasue of Shawn and Cody that I love cyclocross so much! My first real experience with cross was the 2003 Cyclocross World Championships in Monopoli, Italy. I only got to watch the U-23 race but damn was it awesome! From watching Adam Craig break his chain at the start and race his heart to come back. Also, watching a young Barry Wicks as he towered over the rest of the field.

All seasons have wonderful parts to them and I am happy that I am able to enjoy the pleasures they bring! I am really looking forward to this in 2 weeks.
