Does it go bad?

Gatorade I mean. The reason I ask is I found a 51oz. canister of powder gatorade that was towards the back of my pantry and it is nearly all gone. However I have been making an effort to finish it off as I go on my rides. For some reason every time I take a drink it really does not have that true gatorade taste. It just seems "off", if that makes any sense. I have always mixed it a little on the weak side but it still seems like that is not the factor of its taste.

Regardless I need to go buy some more and probably just throw out the old stuff. Especially since I cannot recall how long it has been around. Ewwww.

Not so Private

The other day I came home to find that some car had parked in front of my house and just at the edge of my driveway. At first I just blew it off and took it as one of the many idiots that frequent my street. Well that evening the same car arrives and parks in the same spot. I then thought it was just someone who was visiting a neighbor of mine. As I was leaving the next morning for work, I was surprised to see the car there again. At lunch time I returned home to the car being present and running. I was a little annoyed at this point because I had to be cautious as I entered my drive because of his parking job. As I exited my vehicle the car was off. I found this to be a little odd but went inside to eat something. As I left to return to work, the car was running again. So as I backed out of the drive I made an attempt to look in the car's windows but to no avail due to the dark tint. He was again present as I returned from work.

From my home I watched the car for a while before it finally left. The next morning as I was leaving the car pulled up and parked. It kind of boggled me but I blew it off and headed to work. As I returned home for lunch the car was parked in the same location and running. This time I noticed that there was a sunshield in the front windshield so visibility in and out was blocked. Again as I left my truck and headed inside and the vehicle was turned off. Halfway thru my lunch I returned to my truck for something only to find the car still parked and running. As I left to return to work the car was off again and upon leaving I took the plate number down. I proceeded by calling the non emergency police line to report a suspicious vehicle, due to the fact that I finally caught on that this guy was watching someone and was learning their schedules. The lady that took my call made a report and took my info. She dispatched an officer to check it out. About 20 minutes later I received a phone call from the officer that was dispatched and he informed me that the car was a private investigator that had been hired locally. He had all of his credentials which the officer confirmed. The funny thing is, since then, that car or no other suspicious vehicles have been seen. I wonder if he thought his cover was blown? Or was it......?

My ultimate question is, Who was he watching? I mean where he was parked and with his windshield covered his visibility of the surrounding area was greatly compromised. Was he spying through his rearview mirror?

Just as I anticipated

It sure was a battle that was not easily overcome as I attempted to get out of bed this morning. Last time I remember looking at the clock last night it was ten 'til 2 and I was thoroughly aggravated at my inability to visit dreamland. After I finally drug myself out of bed and got my rear in gear, I arrived at work but not until I picked up a breakfast burrito from Dona Maria's.

Finally arriving at work and as I readied myself for my daily fix of caffeine, I suffered another blow as there was no sugar for the joe. So I headed for the corner store to fix that problem. I returned to work and finally got my day moving.

As lunch neared I grew with excitement just to get out of the office. I came home and enjoyed the peacefulness I find here. Then it hit me that I should go for a lunch time run. So I quickly changed my clothes and grabbed some food for later. Yet there was a brief moment of stupidity on my part as I threw on some running shoes that had not accompanied my feets in quite some time. As I set off I was feeling decent and enjoying the moderate temps and then I started to get a burning on the inside of my right foot. So as I kept going, so did the burning and I ended up with a blister. What joy. It will be alright soon enough though and I do not see it being a problem as I attempt to go ride but that is me talking beforehand. I think I will hold off riding today not because of the blister but the lack of slumber. Hopefully I fair better this evening.

Insomnia???

Well it is a quarter 'til 12 and I am sitting here wishing that I was in bed asleep and trying not to think of the consequences this is going to bring tomorrow morning as I have to awake for work. It seems that sometimes I run into this wall and I cannot hurdle it. I want to be alseep but my body just doesn't seem to agree.

Oh well what can I do. As far as the weekend went, I can say that I am happy. I ended up doing a short but fast ride on friday evening. Saturday was the JMS birthday and we spent the day in Durango. It rained a little up there but not as much as up in the mountains north of town. Had a wonderful lunch at Carver's and I could not pass up having a pint. I tried the raspberry wheat which was not bad but I am interested in trying some more of what they have to offer. Also had to stop for chocolate.

That night was a relaxing one and a peaceful night of sleep. I guess I ran over on the sleep clock and that is what is hindering me now. After dinner we went for a nice walk along the river with the dogs. They sure were happy to get away from the house and it was a great evening. I had meant to take the camera along but lately I have trouble remembering to bring it. I missed a great shot of a buck, doe and fawn deer along the river as they were getting their evening drink. I promise I will get some pictures up soon and try to be more constant on posting.
Lately all I can think about is cycling and when can I ride again.

It's raining, it's pouring.....

Speaking of rain, I was fortunate enough this evening to miss it on my ride. I started out and there were clouds all around. I figured I would just push it hard so that I would not have to ride too long in it. I was about 2/3 through the loop when I felt a few drops. I wasn't to worried because I was nearing an area where I would be able to hammer it. Fortunately the rain never came, at least not down on me. When I did get back to the truck though I could definitely tell that it had rained there. So I left with a smile of having a good ride and avoiding the rain.

On the other hand, Just as they say, "When it rains, it Pours". If you care to learn more go here to learn of his demise.

I also have to bring this up. It is really crappy that they would let things end the way that they did. I am just at a loss of words on that one. I guess sometimes you just can't have it all.

I am looking forward to the Vuelta.

Like I needed to tell you...

You guys probably know and have one already, but just in case you missed it, here it is. I know they do not need any introduction, but I just wanted to help pass the word.

I picked my copy up the other day and was glued to the screen as I watched it. It just made the fire grow stronger for myself. They really are a great band and am looking forward to going and seeing them soon.

If you have not got your own copy yet get out there and grab one. You will not be dissapointed.

Have a good weekend and play it safe....

Questions

Think about these...but not too much.

1. Does a clean house indicate that there is a broken computer in it?
2. Why is it that no matter what color of bubble bath you use the bubbles are always white?
3. Is there ever a day that mattresses are not on sale?
4. Why do people constantly return to the refrigerator with hopes that something new to eat will have materialized?
5. On electric toasters, why do they engrave the message "one slice"? How many pieces of bread do they think people are really gonna try to stuff in that slot?
6. Why do people keep running over a string a dozen times with their vacuum cleaner, then reach down, pick it up, examine it, then put it down to give the vacuum one more chance?
7. Why is it that no plastic garbage bag will open from the end you first try?
8. How do those dead bugs get into those closed light fixtures?
9. Considering all the lint you get in your dryer, if you kept drying your clothes would they eventually just disappear?
10. When we are in the supermarket and someone rams our ankle with a shopping cart then apologizes for doing so, why do we say, "It's all right?" Well, it isn't all right so why don't we say, "That hurt!"
11. Why is it that whenever you attempt to catch something that's falling off the table you always manage to knock something else over?
12. Is it true that the only difference between a yard sale and a trash pickup is how close to the road the stuff is placed?
13. In winter why do we try to keep the house as warm as it was in summer when we complained about the heat?
14. How come you never hear father-in-law jokes?
15. If at first you don't succeed, shouldn't you try doing it like your wife told you to do it? And obviously if at first you don't succeed, then don't take up sky diving!
16. The statistics on sanity are that one out of every four Americans is suffering from some sort of mental illness. Think of your three best friends, if they're okay, then it's you.

Becareful out there!!!

I was shocked to find out about Big Jonny. I am glad he is alright and they caught the idiot. I wish him the best and a speedy recovery. I am still puzzled each time I hear of such incidents at how motorists just could care less. Even when their kids are riding their bikes and definitely have no concept of what a car can do as they continuously try to dart across the road just as you are upon them.

I think that we should have Maigh teach a driving class not only because she cares but knows how to get it done.

I wish you all the best for the rest of the week and watch out for cars whether you are walking or on your bike. Please give cyclist's room if you come upon them.

Forgot to Mention...

Yesterday's post forget to mention the previews from the movie I went to on Friday night. Jack Black has his movie of Tenacious D coming out. Also what looks like another thriller is The Grudge 2. I really liked the first one and am really looking forward to seeing how the 2nd stands up against it. Also last but not least once again those "boys" have done it again. I really think they will have no problem in amazing us again with Jackass 2. So keep those in mind as they look to impress us again.

If you're not first, you're last...

Anyways that makes no sense but that was from the movie I went and watched last night, "Talladega Nights". Of course it is pretty goofy with having Will Ferrel but that is typical for him. It really was better than I thought it would be but he is no Stroker Ace.

I managed to get out of bed and go for a mtb bike ride before it got too hot. As we were starting out, we came across a kid that was out in the "boonies" and he was on crutches with a broken foot. We stopped and asked if he was okay and to see if he needed to call someone. He said he was alright and he had went to a party somewhere out there and his "friends" somehow left him out there by mistake. He opted not to make any calls, so we headed on our merry way. Hopefully he made it because he was a little way from any civilzation. Kids these days, at least he had no obvious signs that he had been beat up.

Not much else going on but maybe hitting up Connie Mack a bit later. Have a good one and hope to see you on the trails tomorrow.

I didn't think....

I didn't think that updating my site daily was going to be such an issue, until I was sitting here and wondering what I was going to say. I don't know if it is that difficult or am not able to put my imagination to work.

So just as Maigh has pointed out, it really does take some work and talent. I have to applaud her and how she does her best to amuse us, even if she may not be up for it. Thank you Maigh!!! Also, don't forget to check out her side activity and spread the word.

I also have to appologize to Shawn for hasseling so much and his updates. I am glad that he survived and is back home. I got to talk to him for a minute today but had to let him go, so that he could deal with how Tara rolled up the car window on his arm. What topped that off was that the both of them were laughing. I can't believe it is August already.....
