Camping Part Deux

Well camping was spent up in the mountains north of Durango. These mountains are my first love and in turn my most favorite. This trip was filled with alot of hiking, offroading and taking in all the views that layed before us.

Up until the final night, it was just the typical capming excursion. That is until we had an uninvited guest show up. We were busy eating our dinner and enjoying the evening, when off in the background I heard a nearby camper calling his dog. Or so I thought...He said the name a few times and I payed no real attention to it. Then out of nowhere, He shouted, THERE'S A BEAR!!!! This of course got our attention, as we turned around and saw the bear about 10 yards behind us. It was just a small black bear but exciting none the less.

My camera was in my truck which was about another 10 yards in the other direction. So as I ran up to go get it, the bear scampered over a little hill and down into the next campsite. I ran up the road to it and managed to get these pictures just as he was walking through their campsite. It was exciting to see him and the way that he was overturning rocks looking for worms or grubs underneath them.

The camp hosts said that the bear has been coming down about once a week and they chase him off everytime. I just hope that all occurences with this guy end peacefully without either party being hurt or killed.
I know they are not the clearest of pictures but I think you can understand that I was very excited and the bear was moving as I took them.

Over Already?

That's what I have to say about my weekend. I sure wish the work week went by as fast as the weekends tend to. You can't have it all I guess. Anyways, I want to wish all the fathers out there a happy fathers day and hope that they had a great one. I surprised mine by showing up at his house before 7 a.m. and rushing him out of bed so that I could kidnap him and surprise him with breakfast. It was a great escape for both us. I spent most of the day with him as well and wouldn't have wanted it any other way!!!

The rest of the weekend was and enjoyment away from work. I had a lot of relaxing time and even managed to get the spare bedroom cleaned up. If only I can keep it that way, is the next to impossible feat because it doubles as my "closet".

I got to run around out in the hills this weekend and even took the truck on a little 4 wheeling path and it performed nicely. Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures of the rocks I went up and over but might have to go back out just to capture the moment again with a camera. Here are some nice pictures I managed to get of the sunset.
After the messing around in the hills, I had to go and confront the task of getting fuel for my truck and the sharp stabbing that went with it.
Like I said we can't have it all.....

Oh well I hope that you guys enjoyed your weekends and that you have a great week. Get out there and make sure you go and enjoy summer! I have to give my well wishes to Mary as well, as her clinic is under an IG Inspection this week. I hope all goes well and that her clinic receives the "norm" and get's a grade of satisfactory.

I feel so much better!

After I received the call to come down to the office and pick them up I was very happy and I'm sure my eyes were as well. I had gone over the permitted time on the previous pair and my eyes were hollering at me because of it. I still plan on giving myself a contact free day this weekend and just wear my glasses. So that my eyes can have a chance to breathe and be in that "natural" state. I often wonder what it would be like to open my eyes in the morning and be able to see clearly at first light.

Someday I might go down the road of having Lasix done just as my friends Lindsay, Juan and Chris have done and probably alot more that I don't know of. My main argument on it came from Cody's view on it and a heck of a view it is! Lasix has not been around for that long of a time. At least not according to a normal human lifespan. So we as humans may have the knowledge and technology to perform this procedure but no one knows exactly what the long term effects of Lasix are if any at all. Just as Cody says, who knows forty years from now, people don't start going blind at the drop of a hat. No one knows if that will or will not happen. So better to be safe than sorry! Talk to me again in about twenty years and I may have a different view. There is nothing more important than being able to see, at least in my opinion.

What do you think?

Please let me know if I am being selfish or have a legimate argument here...

Well late last week, My co-workers boyfriend/significant other's mother passed away. They are not married but have been together for several years. I understand she pretty much is part of the family and what have you but New Mexico is not a common law state. Well with the passing, my boss has made comments to me that he plans on sending flowers to the family. I am not quite sure that he has done so or not as of yet. The funeral is scheduled for Friday and my co-worker is planning on taking off early tomorrow as well. There are only the three of us in the office so we are a close knit group.

So my question is, if my boss comes to me and wants to include me with having me sign a card or whatever, should I do it? The reason I ask is because I actually had a BLOOD/LEGAL RELATIVE pass away this past December with my grandfather. Well needless to say, my family never received anything from my two co-workers back then nor was I ever asked If I needed anything or where they could send flowers to my family. If my boss was to come up to me at this exact moment, I would have to turn him down and ask not to be included upon how I was treated. I have already received a few different responses but I would like to know what you think. Regardless of which view you have on it.

On another note, summer is in full swing and I couldn't be happier. I have been keeping my evenings consistent with walks along the river. Camping season is starting for me next weekend and I can't wait. Here are some pic's I took last night along my walk.

It's not what you think

Life has the funniest way of throwing whatever it feels like at you and whenever it damn well pleases. I have no reason or some great story to make reference to that quote but depending on the person, they might find the following kind of obscure. Take a close look at the following pictures and shares your thoughts. It's not what it may appear even if it is right along the major artery. It may appear that stitches may have been placed but I actually received cuts/scratches in those distinct spots. Hmmm.

Not the clearest of shots but I think you get the idea.

On another note, my brother turned 30 on Saturday and his wife threw him a party Friday night. I behaved myself with the beverages but sure over did it with the food. For some reason I don't know why I didn't take the camera to the party but had a good time none the less. Saturday was a chill day and a well deserved one at that!

Sunday, I escaped with my brother and his family to Haviland Lake, which is just a few miles up in the mountains north of Durango. Enjoy these pic's even though they really don't do justice to seeing it in person.
