Suggestions, Recommendations

I am always in the search for a new book to read. I have my next one already picked out but I like to have a few on hand for the future. It helps me to be persistent so that I can look forward to the next one. So does anyone have a suggestion or recommendation of something you have recently read or is one of your favorites.
